“Made in the Shade”
This season, leaves, plants and branches creating a haze with their shadows are crafted with embroideries and handmade textures to conceptualise and form ILK’s SS17 collection. A mix of opaque and translucent fabrics are used in the collection to create illusionary surface textures.
Greys, fuchsias, bottle greens and powder blues form the core colour palette, so bold in their forms and silhouettes.
We also feature ILK’s AW16 collection, ‘Dot on a Walk’. This collection uses an age-old artistic technique called ‘Pointillism’. This technique, derived from the Art Movement, heavily relies on using tiny dots of varying colors to create depth in a work of art that forms its own distinct shape and structure.
Rib paneling, a signature detailing of the designers makes a comeback with unexpected placements. An apron-inspired silhouette, printed opaque fabric, tomato reds and blackish-blues, are the makings of this collection.
