Kantha silk sari scarf - paisley
Featuring a rectangular, handcrafted, upcycled, silk sari Kantha scarf with cotton threads in multicolour and a yellow paisley print on reverse from the brand, House of Wandering Silk.
This scarf is made with two layers of handpicked sari fabric that are stitched together in the style of Kantha, in which women hand sew rows of tiny running stitch from end to end, providing strength and enabling the recycling of saris. The art of Kantha creates a rich rippling effect across the fabric, adding a unique texture to the product.
Each piece is unique and you will not find the same combination of fabrics and threads twice.
The Kantha is of the highest quality, stitched by women heralding from the Kantha heartland, West Bengal (India), whose families have worked with Kantha for generations. Vigorous quality control measures are taken before the scarf is suitable for sale.
The scarf is reversible.
